This kit will work on a Pacman or Ms Pacman pcb. They're the same pcb, however, you will not use the Ms Pac Daughter card and ribbon cable. You can reuse the z80 on that daughter card and transfer to our kit.
- This kit plugs into your z80 socket. This socket is under the syncbus card. You can use on a standard Pacman pcb OR a Ms Pacman pcb.
- You may have a FAST or ORIGINAL speed pcb, it will not matter since the kit replaces the Row 6 roms. Please check user guide for pictures of where they are at.
- Rom Saver - Program roms in row 6 MUST be removed with kit installed
- 5E and 5F must be present

My 2nd HSSK. Bought my 1st one for Crazy Climber - it's EXCELLENT! As for the Ms. Pac Man HSSK, i can't say enough great things about it. I had a different Ms. Pac. daughter card than what was pictured on the site, but Joe was kind enough to take the time to explain that the kit would STILL WORK. The kit was very simple to install. It saves the top 10 scores which is great!

exceptional features for Ms Pac
This kit as with all of the other highscoresaves kits offers outstanding technical value. It eliminates some frequent failure components associated with the Ms. Pac board such as the row 6 Ic's which often have the ic leg failure problem. As well as the daughter board not needed any longer makes it more reliable. I rate this A+.
As a Ms Pac-Man enthuistest this is a must have and it's as easy to install as they say.
I've just started collecting an repair old arcade machines and was a little hesitant to do this as I thought I might lack the experience. I'm really glad I did now, it took less than an thirty minutes for me to swap everything out and get it set back up and now I can finally save my high scores! Customer service is great too as they were very quick to answer my question regarding how to enter the menu.

Called Highscoresaves and spoke with Joe. He explained that I had to remove the program roms in row 6 of my pcb. I saw the big red letters on the install guide, but, didn't understand. He took the time and walked me through. Will be back!
Bought one of these when I bought my Pac highscoresaves - same great kit - super easy to install. Now I can stop writing high scores down on the pad! ha!

How do I mount the daughter card off the ribbon cable?
There are a couple ways -
1. You can use the holes on that daughter card to secure with wood screws to the side of the cabinet. This is how Ms Pac was originally done back in the day (they actually had a metal plate w/plastic standoffs)
2. You can use Velcro
3. You can zip tie to the top of the SyncBus card. Just ensure the SBC is zip tied securely to the main pcb

While all of the high score save kits save scores, have an on screen menu for difficulty settings and other features like attract sounds (Please see the description under each kit for full details)
There are usually 2 or 3 main types -
High Score Save kit - This is a great option for anyone wanting to save scores and have free play option on their game with some other cool options! Again, please see the product description page for each kit you are looking at.
Online High Score Save kit - This is next level stuff! You can now save your scores locally on your machine and upload your scores to the Global High Score Save web page! Information uploaded is not just your initials and score, but also uploads the day, time, difficulty levels, how many guys used, players name, city and country you are in and the name of your arcade!
Please remember, you need to have internet access and your high score save kit connected to it. The ribbon cable is no more. In the newest revision of this classuc save kit [1.09E], the ribbon cable has been replaced with low-profile gold pin headers. Please check out the installation guide. You're good to go and ready to play some Pac!
Received my kit and now the screen looks like this after installation. How can I fix?
That screen is a static screen. This tells you that there could be a few issues -
- The z80 is not firing. This could be that the main daughter card of the save kit is not seated properly or not all header pins are in the z80 socket, the z80 is installed incorrectly on the kit, or there are bent legs on the z80 or the daughter card itself.
- The syncbus card is not seated properly or there are bent pins on the riser.
