This Gyruss Multigame High Score Save and Free Play Kit allows you to play Gyruss, Time Pilot and Pooyan all on your original Gyruss pcb WITHOUT a switcher! Please read the installation guide as some Gyruss pcb's will need sockets installed for the kit to work. This only is designed to play on an original Gyruss pcb, nothing else. It is honestly something that has never been done before, because of the work involved. You get to enjoy the benefits and play some cool games!
Most Gyruss pcb's will require soldering in sockets ... at least (3) 16pin for the GYA/GYB/GYC PROMs, as well as 1-2 additional 16 pin sockets for the LS377s (depending on whether or not the 378C riser boards are used on your original pcb). Then, a 40 pin for the CPU if it is not already socketed. Check out your pcb before ordering!
- Install Info - No board modifications or special wiring. (Most Gyruss PCB's require soldering in sockets for the new Multi Kit)
- Save your scores forever - We use a serial eprom, not failure prone NVRAM or batteries
- High Score Saving - Saves the Top 5 scores in Gyruss and Time Pilot, Pooyan saves the Top 10!
- Has separate score tables - Different Lives save on a different HST (ie. 3 lives, 5 lives, etc)
- ROM Revisions - Latest ROM revisions for each game
- Attract Sounds/Attract Music - Hear what you've been missing! Set at 25%, 50% or 100% of the attract screen rotation! Or, set it off...
- Freeplay - No more coins or opening up the coin door!
- Coin Up - Still supports coins if wanted
- Attract Mode - Minimize your screen burn. No more "static" screens! No more staying on coin up screen!
- Change DIP settings - Menu driven. No more pulling out your game to get inside to change dip switches!
- Rom Saver - Original program roms MUST be removed, see install guide for more details.
- Support - Can be used in an Upright or Cocktail cabinet!
- Backup and Restore - Able to backup high scores and restore them later! Ideal for before and after game room parties!

Great Kit. Not for beginners.
This kit is an outstanding way to add two games to your gyros cabinet specially with the Great joystick. Definitely not for beginners. Especially if you're board was like mine and nothing was socketed. Definitely a lot of soldering if you have to add sockets. And not wanting to damage the original chips in the process. However after taking my time. The game works great. Thanks for another great kit.

This was the hardest kit I've personally done, but the instructions were top notch and I took my time. I cannot overstate how happy I am with this kit. I had a Konami 2-in-1 kit that used a separate Time Pilot board, but was never happy with how it worked in my cab. This kit, however plays perfectly (and adds Pooyan). Joe's an awesome guy and called me when I was having minor issues (ended up being power supply and/or harness issues - not the kit). Do NOT hesitate to order this if you are even remotely interested, you won't be disappointed.

Another great kit!
This one is more difficult to install than most of them so be sure to review the instructions before ordering. It requires the removal of many hard soldered-in chips so you'll need to have the right tools for the job. It took me several hours to complete but I successfully installed it. The audio on Time Pilot and Pooyan is improved since it's now sort of "stereo" where different sounds come out of the left or right channel, just like Gyruss. Crank it up and enjoy!

This kit was an excellent idea. Time Pilot and Gyruss play great in this cabinet. Can buy the kit for much cheaper than another game pcb that would have to be swapped in and out of the game. This kit makes it easy with the game menu. Pooyan is fun, never heard of it before.

Plays Gyruss and Pooyan And Time Pilot! Installed in about an hour taking my time. The extra 378s that come with the kit are perfect to test my sockets I installed.

Read the instructions. I soldered in the sockets needed. Manual was pretty good with pictures and written instructions.
The kit works perfectly. Playing all the games, Pooyan is a good addition, but I like Gyruss the most. Time pilot plays great with the dedicated Monroe joystick

Thanks for making these great kits! While the install is not plug and play (needs some sockets installed) it is pretty simple if you can desolder a few chips and install sockets.

Does this Gyruss multi only work on a Gyruss pcb?
Correct. Kit installs on your Gyruss pcb (see install guide) and allows you to play Gyruss, Time Pilot and Pooyan!
How does your new Gyruss multigame kit handle stereo sound? If it's hooked up to two speakers, do Time Pilot and Pooyan just emit sound from one speaker? What if you install this board in a single speaker cab like original Time Pilot? Do you have to jumper the Gyruss board to mono?

Time pilot has a soundboard with a single channel output.
MONO channel:
2x ay-8910 soundchips, 3 outputs each, all outputs with two switchable filters each combined on one channel
Gyruss:
Left channel:
1x ay-8910 soundchip, 3 outputs with two switchable filters each
1x ay-8910 soundchip, 3 outputs with NO filters
1x 8-bit DAC (resitor-array), driven by the 8035 CPU
Right channel:
1x ay-8910 soundchip, 3 outputs with two switchable filters each
2x ay-8910 soundchip, 3 outputs with NO filters
To have the original time pilot sound, you must use both soundchips with filters. One is on the left channel, one is on the right channel.
To connect a gyruss pcb to a mono speaker, you have to shortcut the two pinheaders at pos F7 to combine the two output channels.

OK I give up. How do you enter the settings menu. Not the game select menu. Why is it not sent with the kit or listed here somewhere?

How do I get to the menu settings?
With the power off on your game. Press and hold P1 while you turn the game on. Release P1 button when the screen tells you to. You are now in the main menu settings. This is a feature built into your kits so the menu settings are not accessible to your guests or family.

While all of the high score save kits save scores, have an on screen menu for difficulty settings and other features like attract sounds (Please see the description under each kit for full details)
There are usually 2 or 3 main types -
High Score Save kit - This is a great option for anyone wanting to save scores and have free play option on their game with some other cool options! Again, please see the product description page for each kit you are looking at.
Online High Score Save kit - This is next level stuff! You can now save your scores locally on your machine and upload your scores to the Global High Score Save web page! Information uploaded is not just your initials and score, but also uploads the day, time, difficulty levels, how many guys used, players name, city and country you are in and the name of your arcade!
Please remember, you need to have internet access and your high score save kit connected to it.
