No Need to buy additional adapters, comes with everything you need to switch between 2 Nintendo Classic Pinout pcbs. This Nintendo 2 game switcher allows you to play two Classic Nintendo pcbs in your cabinet.
- Simple to install
- Easy to switch between boards
- Powers 1 pcb at a time
- No need to go inside cabinet to change the harness from one pcb to the other
- Switches 5V, 12V, and -5V Power to each gameboard (again, one pcb at a time)
- Coin up option (just press P2, then up or down on joystick to add credits)
- Change game boards by holding P2 Start and then tap P1 Start
- The orientaton of your monitor is important for each PCB. For example, you will not be able to put a Popeye (horizontal orientation) pcb in with a Donkey Kong (vertical orientation) pcb. Well, you could but your neck will hurt...
- If you are using the edge connector or the pin connectors on the switcher, you will need a "rainbow" power cable installed on your pcb from the CPU board to the Video board for power.
- This switcher will not work with a 4 PCB stack since it does not use an edge connector

This is a great switcher. No need to buy additional parts, it is complete for a 2 board setup. I installed Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr in a single cabinet. Also ordered the Remix kits for each. Easy install.

Does this switcher need "Rainbow Cables"?

How do you swap pcbs when using the switcher?
In the current version - change game boards by holding P2 Start and then tap P1 Start

In previous versions - change game boards by holding P2 Start and then tap joystick to the right. To go back to the first pcb, do the same, but, hold left. (2018 and older models)
Coin up option (just press P2, then up or down on joystick to add credits) But we suggest a High Score Save Kit for free play and other enhancements.

Change game boards by holding P2 Start and then tap JUMP. To go back to the first pcb, do the same.

So I have the double donkey Kong board and dk3. Seeing how I have to press 1 & 2 player buttons to switch between the double kong games would this switcher work for me if I tried to plug in the dk3 board? Seeing how to have to use the same button combo to activate the switcher?
Yes, however, you switch pcbs with the switcher by using P2 held down and just "tapping" P1. There is not a long press/hold on P1. Customers are using this switcher with no issues, so, you can be confident that it works as intended!
