All units of the Champion Edition version, come with a firmware installed that allows to use original untouched romsets. In order to use them, you need to plug a cable between the main PCB of the kit and connector CN9 of your B Board. If you have one of the old type B boards, then, you'll need to solder 4 wires between this connector in the main PCB of the kit and CN2 of your B Board. Further details are given below.

Programming of the key is done with 4 additional signals called DATA, CLOCK, SETUP1 and SETUP2. Those signals are available in pins 2,3,4 and 5 in the connector J18 of the multi.It's located besides the microSD slot. There is a special connector, in the main PCB of the multi, so that it's very simple to connect to the same connector that you will find on your B Board. This applies to the revisions 93646B-5 and upwards. The revisions 93646B-3 and 93646B-4, don't have this connector. However you can find the very same pins available on the connector CN2.

If for any reason you need to update the firmware on your CPS2 Multi, take into account the following

• DO NOT INSTALL THE WIRES UNTIL AFTER UPDATING THE FW!!!! IF THE WIRES ARE INSTALLED WHILE TRYING TO UPDATE THE FW YOU WILL CORRUPT THE
• BOOT-LOADER ON THE KIT AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REWRITE IT USING A STM32F4 DISCOVERY KIT!!!
