Steps for a successful install of your online or offline high score save kit -

·       Ensure your gameboard is working 100% before installing kit

·       Ensure power to game is off before removing your gameboard from  cabinet

·       Label any connectors that you will be disconnecting. This will make reinstalling easier once kit is on gameboard

· Note which way your connectors/cables are on. (We suggest taking pictures to help you remember!)

·       Work in a well-lit area on your workbench

·      

Overview 

This Multi Scramble HighScoreSaves Kit will work on an original Scramble pcb or bootleg Scramble pcb. 

Please look at pics below -

There are a bunch of different Scramble boards out there that I've seen. Some do not have the sound CPU socketed, some do not have the main CPU socketed, some do not have the grafx roms socket and yet again, some do not have the prom socketed at 6E. I have also been lucky and come across a board that DID have all of these socketed. Check your pcb before purchase.

Disassemble the board by removing the standoffs. This will allow you to keep the ribbon cable connected but allow access to the CPU pcb.

Remove the Sound z80 (3G/4G) -

Bend the green caps so the daughter card can sit flush in the socket. NOTE - see pic above also Install Sound pcb –

Open stack to reveal CPU pcb (you can remove eproms as shown on row 2, the 5F and H, and the prom at 6E)

Install 5F and 5H daughter card (you may bend or clip the green cap in between 5F and 5H to install grafx pcb)

Install prom pcb at 6E -

Remove CPU and install into kit, then kit onto the board. (1A/1C)

Connect all pcbs with the ribbon cable -

Install standoffs. Please note that the main daughter card hangs over the edge a bit and a "special" standoff is used on that corner of the pcb. The bottom end is secured using the original pcb foot from your board.

After insertion, check the seating of the daughter board again to ensure proper seating in the socket.

That's it!

• Double check your work
• Install back in cabinet using pictures you took and any marked connectors
• Power up the game and enjoy!

If the game does not start, turn power off immediately, double check your work.

How do I get to the menu settings?

With the power off on your game. Press and hold P1 while you turn the game on. Release P1 button when the screen tells you to. You are now in the main menu settings. This is a feature built into your kits, so the menu settings are not accessible to your guests or family.

Now, having said that, you need to enable this feature in the menu settings, or disable if you want your kit to give you approximately 5 seconds every time you turn on your game.
